Description
Hing powder is an Indian flavor powder made by drying the juice of the asant plant. A mild powder mixed with wheat flour. Hing powder mainly serves as a seasoning, but is also said to have a calming effect on the digestion. Asant has been known since ancient times and is used daily in India, Nepal and the Middle East.
Suitable for the following dishes: curries, lentils, beans, cabbage, red meat, chutney, pickles
Usage: Asant should always be heated, then the aroma becomes a mild, sweetly spicy taste. It is best to heat with oil at the beginning of the cooking before the other ingredients are added.
